We’re looking for a Newsletter/Communications Coordinator. No Experience Needed. Training is provided!!
The main focus of our newsletter is to provide Caswell Community Association information and updates to residents in Caswell Hill. It includes such things as our information about our programs, neighbourhood clean-ups, AGM and other events, updates on our community rink, garden, and updates to board members and meeting dates/times. It may also include City of Saskatoon information and updates, as well as any additional submissions like neighbourhood interest stories or profiles, and advertising.
This position:
- Meets and works with the Newsletter/Communications Committee to determine what information to share in the upcoming newsletter.
- Provides written and verbal reports at monthly board meetings.
- Communicates upcoming deadlines to the Board and Committee Chairs.
- Compiles information for the next newsletter, including:
- updates and articles/reports submitted by Board Members and Committees
- any City of Saskatoon info
- additional submissions
- advertising
- Works with the Newsletter/Communications Committee to solicit advertising.
- Works with the Newsletter/Communications Committee and the Treasurer to collect and invoice for advertising.
- Works with the printer:
- Once all the information is gathered, the Newsletter/Communications Coordinator submits it in one package email to the printer
- When the draft is received from the printer, they send it out to the Newsletter/Communications Committee and President for proofing.
- The Newsletter/Communications Coordinator communicates any changes with the printer.
- They review the final draft to ensure all updates have been made and gives the go-ahead to print.
- When the newsletters are printed, they pick them up from the printer and drop them off to the Newsletter Delivery Coordinator.
- Required:
- willingness to work with others
- good communication of upcoming deadlines to the board and various committees
- ability to collect information on a deadline and send to printer
- good communication with the printer for each issue
- good communication with advertisers
- ongoing communication with the Newsletter/Communications Committee, Treasurer, and President
- the ability to represent yourself and Caswell Community Association in a positive light
- No experience needed.
- Training is provided.
